This is the face of one happy 3 year old!

Owens Family February 2010

Stacy and Jay (aka J-Bird if you ask Jacob) drove up from Oklahoma late Thursday night to be here for Jacob's birthday party.

We had a pretty relaxing day on Friday. Jacob went over to the Sinclairs for a play date in the morning while Jay, Stacy and Grandma helped me decorate and get things ready for the party.

We ordered a bunch of pizzas and the Sinclairs came over to Grandma and Papa's house for dinner and Wii. Mimi & Papa had sent Jacob some balloons in his package he opened the day before and Jacob really wanted everyone to blow them up. And this picture really only makes sense in conjunction with the one below it.

That is Aunt Amy with the "I don't think that's a good idea" look on her face.... And below is Jake blowing up his balloon with Rebekah in his arms... He was seeing if he could make his the biggest but Aunt Amy was right - that's going to blow up in Bekah's face and then it won't be funny anymore... Don't worry it didn't but still we were all a little panicky.

We stuffed ourselves on pizza and then sang Happy Birthday to Jacob. He doesn't really like it when everyone is looking at him singing but as soon as you say "you can blow the candles out now" he perks right up!

Then it was time to open presents!

The Sinclairs gave Jacob a fun new outfit! And then before Jacob moved on to the rest of his presents he gave the boys their little Thank You gift from him. They are getting a little too old to give little gift bags too so we thought we'd give them boxes of candy that he wrapped with a little thank you note. As a mom I was pretty excited that he did it all on his own AND before he opened the rest of presents too :)

Then moving on to other presents! Rebekah was starting to catch on to what was happening and joined right in pulling things out of bags. She didn't really care about the gifts but she LOVES to pull things out of boxes, bags or the wipe container... This gift was so sweet. Elijah and Micah drew pictures and hand made cards and they decided to give Jacob an awesome handmade Spiderman costume! I can't wait to get some pictures of him in it :) We remember Micah wearing it when we first moved here! It was so awesome!

They also gave him some Spiderman goodies - a puzzle and coloring book and some new crayons!

Jay wanted to get something for Jacob that he really wanted so we told him about the Wii game Jacob played in Washington with David and Andrew. He was SO excited! I wish I could have gotten a picture of him when he hugged the video game. Aunt Stacy did get it on video which is better than a picture in that situation. It was really funny!

Daddy got him the Tony Hawk Skateboarding game!

Then he was opening Mimi & Papa's gift - a super cool Hot Wheels stunt set. As you can see Rebekah was all over (literally) helping Jacob open up his gifts.

He had to take it over and show the boys and couldn't wait to set it up!

As you can see it was a hit!

Uncle Charlie came to the rescue and assembled the entire track for Jacob! Thank you so much!!

Daddy was trying to get the skateboard set up. And just for the record - this is a really terrible game! We are taking it back. We could not get it calibrated EVER! We tried for a long time then gave up so we could actually play some games. Then Jay looked online and we tried after everyone left and did the tricks people suggested and tried the next day and night and have yet to get it working. So unfortunate because it really looked like fun!

Then it was Wii War time! Jacob is a master at the Swords game on Wii Sports Resort. We have such a hard time beating him. The Sinclair boys have some tricks up their sleeves and they can give him a run for his money but otherwise... Jay had to hold Jacob down to win! It was pretty funny!! And Daddy can beat him sometimes but he's sweating and tired after just two games he has to work so hard.

Little Miss Rebekah was just hanging out. She b-lines it straight to Jacob's juice if it is ever left laying around. And she loves to play with the Wii remote and nunchuck. She was in total heaven! All these people to pay attention to her and all the things to play with and crawl up on.

Siblings. I seriously took 5 pictures and this was the best one... Jake kept making crazy faces and then I'd catch Amy when she was trying to keep him in check or talking to someone else so I decided to let Jake look crazy and pick a good one of Amy :)

This is the picture of Rebekah we saw most of the night. What is she wanting...

She found out where the food table was and was VERY content as long as Auntie Stacy kept the crackers coming. It was pretty cute :)

We moved the Hot Wheels Stunt track over to the back of the room and I saw Noah over there with Jacob. It is always so awesome to see how the Sinclair boys love our children. They are so good with them! It's a total blessing.

This really was the main event of the evening. Wii playing, pizza eating, cake and ice cream, friends and family! What a wonderful 3rd birthday party for Jacob!

We put the kids to bed upstairs and then the party resumed for a little while longer :) The guys were playing the Cabella's hunting game while Stacy and I were looking at stamping magazines. When we were all too tired to do anything else we packed up the kids and went home praying everyone would sleep in super late in the morning. Thank you everyone who helped give Jacob a super awesome birthday!

Looks like so much fun! And the cake is great - Joseph would have loved one for his birthday too!
If I can do it then you definitely can do it :)
