One of my most favorite places to visit in WA...

The Waterfront in Tacoma... It makes me sigh when I think of it. A "good" sigh. It reminds me of so many things - some I love to think about and some well it's good I don't have a good memory :) But since moving away from Washington it is one place I always go back to for a visit. Before babies, I would get a coffee and drive around and get out and walk and just relax and enjoy the view. Post babies - I may get a coffee if time permits - but for sure we pull over and walk out on the pier and take pictures.
This is the second time I've been down with David and Andrew - the last time I went with them was when Jacob was a baby. This time Rebekah was the baby and she was sleeping in the van so Sheryl stayed in with her and the boys and I went out for the walk.
The boys chased the pigeons and I had fun just watching them run around.
So much fun! It was a typical Washington day - overcast and a little chilly but still beautiful and peaceful and fun!
This was a much needed fun break for everyone. We had spent the morning at the Museum of Glass, just eaten lunch in the car and needed to get out and run!

Of course after we had our fun outside it was time for something serious - a tradition - a MUST DO when you are at the waterfront. You MUST keep driving to the tunnel that leads you up to Point Defiance and you MUST roll down all the windows, turn on your headlights, honk your horn and scream at the top of your lungs while driving under the tunnel. Really, you MUST, I think there is some law somewhere that says you HAVE to do that! All of it! Even if you have a sleeping baby in the car (she woke up startled but fell right back asleep) and then if you turn around to go home and drive back thru the tunnel you STILL MUST roll down the windows, turn on your lights, honk your horn and scream at the top of your lungs - even if you might wake the baby up again and she might scream the whole way home - which by the way - she did wake but ended up falling back asleep (again) and slept the whole way home! Success!!
