Christmas Day

Merry Christmas Sleepy Head! Jacob is a slow "waker-upper" and was a little overwhelmed waking up to all this excitement! He has been asking for Tidmoth Sheds for a few months. Whenever we'd talk about going to see Santa he would tell us that he was asking for Tidmoth Sheds. Well it was kind of expensive and we didn't really want to buy it but then Mimi and Papa said they were sending us money and for us to pick out a present for the kids. So we did and it was awesome! Jacob loved it!
It is uses the same track system that he already has up in his room but this Thomas is remote control so he was very excited! It was a total hit! Thank you so much Mimi & Papa!! Your gift stole the show - although he kind of thinks Santa brought it for him since he asked him specifically for it :)
Rebekah has been working on her front teeth and was just relaxing and chillin' out with Papa during all the excitement.
As you can see Papa didn't mind one little bit :)
I hope the kids have a good sense of humor about these pictures because trying to get the two of them to look at the camera and smile at the same time was next to impossible. This was as good as it got but we still think they are pretty darn cute! In their new pj's with their stockings.
Rebekah with some cool new bath toys and some candy that mommy and daddy will eat for her.
Jacob got a few goodies - a Jimmy Johnson paddle ball, a new spiderman toothbrush with a case for our trip to WA, a Buzz Lightyear cell phone and some candies which he will eat all on his own.
Aunt Miki, Uncle Chuck and Madison sent Rebekah some super cute new outfits!! Thank you Stewarts! We look forward to Thanks-Christmas-Giving with all of you next year!
The Stewart's also gave Jacob some awesome new clothes and a Jimmy Johnson car and a new movie! As you can see he didn't care about posing for the picture as much as he cared about someone opening his new car!
Great Aunt Terry and Great Uncle Mike sent some goodies to the kids too! Rebekah got a new outfit and a fun little camera toy. Thank you so much!!
And Jacob got a Tony Stewart race car (Aunt Terry's favorite), a cool shirt, a new book and his first ever pack of NASCAR trading cards. He thought the cards were awesome!
Can't get him to pose with the car but you can definitely get some action shots of him playing with the car!
Then it was time for Papa to open his present and luckily Jacob didn't know what was inside (or else everyone would have known!) Daddy went shopping for Papa after work and saw this hunting game for the TV and thought it would be perfect!
Jacob was VERY excited and immediately started "shooting" the gun while Papa was getting all the stuff out of the box.
Then he ran over to me and was telling me they were getting ready to "bang bang" with the gun and they were going to shoot the deer. It was pretty funny how excited ALL the guys got about the new game.
Now this picture is the most funny to all of us so I had to make sure we recorded it. I got this water bottle a month or so ago and forgot it in the box on the table. Jacob asked me what it was and I said it was Grandma's new Christmas present. Then one night they came over for dinner and I left the box out but put it aside. Well Jacob saw the box and immediately said Grandma don't forget to take your new water bottle. It's for you! We told him it was a surprise and he said "oh" but still he did this several more times over the course of month leading up to Christmas. Even when we were handing out the presents he ran up to Grandma and said "You get to open your water bottle today! Momma wrapped it for you!" It was just too funny! Needless to say I did not share any other presents with him!
Daddy surprised me with another gift - a new watch - I had a great one but ever since Rebekah was born it has been MIA. We think we may have left it at the hospital or something. So he got me a new one! Thanks baby!!
Then it was time to play the new game! It's kind of cool because it is just a plug-n-play game with no console.
Of course Jacob could not wait for his turn. The gun has to be pumped so he needs help with that part but he can aim and shoot on his own.
Rebekah really only smiled and got excited over one present - not that she didn't play with toys but really there is only one thing that makes her giggle and smile immediately - her blanket!! I found another one that was just as soft and cozy (minus the silky part) and she lit up and snuggles with it right away. It is not her "favorite" blanky but it will work just fine as the replacement when I need to wash the other one.
And this is the toy that Jacob picked out for her. It has a large base and a phone part that comes off. It plays music, says numbers and letters and she really likes it! Thank you big brother!!
I found these cool Haulers at the store and was so happy when they had a Kyle Busch and a Jimmy Johnson one! Matching gifts for my 2 favorite guys!
Then the "Shake Shake Bridge" track for Jacob. We had originally purchased this one for Jacob and almost didn't give it to him since he got Tidmoth Sheds but he really likes this part of the Thomas movie and it was fairly small so we went ahead. Needless to say he liked it a lot too!
Daddy also got a K'Nex Kyle Bush vs Joey Logano car set. He was painstakingly putting the Kyle Bush car together and getting all the stickers on it. Boys and their toys :)
Jacob thought it was hilarious that Santa only ate parts of the cookies and didn't finish all the pop. He already ate the half oreo that was on the plate before I could get a picture.
But I did catch him eating the last bit of the sugar cookie. I don't know maybe he thought Santa was sharing with him but either way he got a kick out of it.
Remember Christmas Eve daddy opened his PSP - well I had got a game for Jacob to play too. Daddy hid that game until later in the day so that he didn't have to give up his new toy :)
But what a sweet moment when he was showing Jacob how to play his new game!
Then mommy forgot that daddy also got Jacob a cool Nerf gun so he opened that the day after Christmas. I have to say that I'm glad it wasn't on Christmas day. They were running around shooting everything! We had such a wonderful Christmas. It was very nice to have done the big meal on Christmas Eve and to just enjoy spending time together on Christmas day. We snacked on yummy food all day and played with all the kids new toys and just enjoyed our time together. No stress and no busyness in the kitchen. It was lovely. I think I like this new tradition. We'll see how it goes next year...
