Jacob received a package from Papa and Mimi in California. We were told he could open one of them now and the other for Christmas so he was VERY excited!! He is always so serious when he opens things until he can see inside.

It's a book set called the Elf on the Shelf - A Christmas Tradition. Jake's mom saw this last summer when she was here and asked if we'd be interested in it. Jake and his family had something just like this when he was growing up. The story is more about the Elf watching you and reporting to Santa but Jake grew up focusing more on the Elf. It would be hidden somewhere every day and you'd have to find it. How much fun!

Jacob was very excited to get the Elf out of the package.

Jake asked him what we should name it - we were not sure he'd quite understand but he named him "Bob". We just died laughing - so we have Bob the Elf. Can you tell we have discovered Bob the Builder...

Jake read him the story - or at least started to read it - but there was one other little package that did not go unnoticed that "had" to be opened too.

Hot wheels stickers AND bubbles! Jacob was in heaven!! He loves both of those things and it was a little difficult to pry him away for bedtime. But never fear as soon as he woke up in the morning he asked for the stickers and bubbles and then saw Bob and got excited all over again! Thank you Mimi and Papa!!

Renee, Thomas received the Elf on the Shelf this year too from Tom's dad and his wife. We haven't named our elf yet and I just remembered it's under our bed! LOL. Thomas got his hands on it and took it upstairs....better get that elf back downstairs! Don't want him reporting on Tom and I to Santa!!!
