Tulip Time Part Duex

Time to catch up on our life... Ok so here we are during tulip Time. I was not feeling great so we only made it to one parade but as usual it was still fun. We had a great shady spot picked out right under a tree for this parade. When everyone got their to sit down we saw they had pulled up the tractors and the "people haulers" along the curb right in front of our spots. So we just sat in front of them. As long as you can see it really doesn't matter where you are.
The parade starts off with the street washers - just a fun tradition!
Rebekah was loving it and having so much fun waving at everyone. Such a major difference from last year. We went to an evening parade last year when she was a few weeks old and she screamed and cried for the first part until she finally fell asleep... This year we went down right after nap time and she waved and clapped and had a blast! Yeah!!!
It is always so fun to have people visiting during TulipTime. This was a first for Stacy and Jay - although Jay is not a big fan of parades in general he still enjoyed most of the Tulip Time fun :)
Just in case you didn't know - Wyatt Earp grew up for a few years her in good old Pella! Yes, he did! So of course he has to march in the parade (it was scene right out of Tombstone!) with a few of his comrades. Jacob was so excited to see him and his big "gun" so he was waving and Wyatt came over and DEPUTIZED Jacob! He gave him his very own Official Deputy of Pella Tulip Time badge! You are looking at one excited kid right here! Of course he was pretty bummed he didn't have his six-shooter with him at the time but he got it as soon as we got home! So fun!
Papa has gotten involved with all the local military groups - the Military Order of the Purple Heart out of Des Moines, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Pella and the American Legion here in Pella. So he was asked if he wanted to ride on a float for Tulip Time. The kids loved seeing Papa up there!
There is Papa!
This is a fun "float" - a train of Klompen's aka Wooden Shoes
And of course one of the kids favorite floats at every parade - Thomas the Tank Engine!
