Easter Sunday seems like a complete blur, unfortunately... We got home from Hawaii about 9:30pm Saturday evening. The time difference from Hawaii to Iowa is 5 hours - we did stay the night in Seattle Friday night but even that time change is 3 hours. So all that to say when we arrived home my parents were at our house and had dinner going for us and loved on the kids while we unloaded the car. We ate and by the time we were ready to put the kids to bed it was around 11pm. Even at this time it was only 5pm to our bodies... luckily we were all pretty wiped out so everyone went down pretty well. Sunday morning we were not sure what to expect - we talked about waking everyone up at the normal time and just trying to force us into the time change but as it turns out everyone one of us slept until noon! We were shocked when we heard Rebekah talking and looked at the clock! We thought for sure she would be awake early and we'd just slide back into Iowa time. Nope! So we got up and had a real "brunch" and colored easter eggs. This was Jacob's first year actually coloring eggs - he got some color on his lip and sort of freaked out that it was going to stay there for a while :) It was also pretty funny because Jake tried to put an egg from one color into another and Jacob did NOT like that at all. He wanted them to stay in their own color ~ the apple does not fall far from the tree....

We thought since we slept for so long we'd just forgo all naps and then try to go to bed at the regular time so we went over to Grandma and Papa's house for the Easter festivities and dinner. If it was not for Grandma and Papa we would not have had any type of Easter. My mom had all the eggs ready to go in our fridge and the coloring supplies ready on the counter. I did manage to get baskets and grass but that was as far as I got before we left. Grandma filled the baskets and they filled up all the plastic eggs and Papa (aka the easter bunny) hid all the eggs in the backyard. Thank you!!

We got them some little goodies from Kauai ~ we found some local steak and chicken rubs for Papa to use and of course the chocolate covered macadamia nuts and also a mango body butter thing for Grandma.

I had ordered these great bags for the kids to use in Hawaii - they came the day after we left... so we put their easter baskets in them.

Jacob had fun opening his - Grandma did a great job! Nothing major just some fun things to play with - like bubbles and of course a chocolate bunny!!

And "BAM! Check out these cars Mom!!!"

and a few more cars...

Rebekah was having fun helping Jacob open his basket and then we showed her that she had her own

Some new little people and her own chocolate bunny and a few other goodies!

Grandma got some goodies for the kids too so they had a few more things to open up...

some fun stuff to play with outside since it is supposed to be spring now!

There is a bunny that we see all the time so Papa told Jacob that he had just seen the bunny and he thought he had left some eggs in the backyard... So out we went!

The kids had a very fun time outside finding the eggs!

Our handsome 3 year old!

Little Miss Rebekah ~ more interested in the pink grass than anything else!

They were both very excited to find that there were goodies inside the eggs!

Jacob had to show me what was inside ~ "Yook Mom - it's chocolate!"

Grandma set a very pretty little table for us to eat her yummy dinner at.

Grandma cooked a wonderful easter dinner for us ~ I tell you she even cleaned my house for us! It was so nice to come home to a clean house and easter Sunday all taken care of for us. Thank you and we couldn't have had made such a good transition into coming home without their help!
