We had the pleasure of driving down to Arkansas to be a part of our friends wedding this past weekend. Congratulations Jackie & David. Thursday night David and our family stayed at Jackie's grandparents lake house. It was a beautiful home and was perfect because I had to make a lot of muffins for the reception. Thank you so much for letting us stay there!!!

We stayed up late Thursday night talking about the wedding and what married life is like. David and Jake went downstairs on the deck and had some "guy" time while I was baking. It really was a great evening and we enjoyed having that one on one time with David.

We stayed in this massive room at the house. Jacob had lots of fun running around this huge room. The wall behind him was where the bathroom area was. We only wish we had more time to spend here!

Friday was a very busy day - we started out at the reception hall. Jacob loved the huge stage and his new best friend this trip - the laptop full of Curious George! He watched Curious George the entire trip which was awesome!

Jacob being silly with daddy while the girls were decorating the reception hall.

Then we drove over to the park where the ceremony was going to be. Jacob had fun running around the park while we were all talking.

A little while into decorating the hall Jake took Jacob and I back to the hotel so Jacob could have a nap. He REALLY needed one!! He did not sleep the entire trip down to Arkansas the night before and even though he had a good night sleep it was going to be a late night with the rehearsal and dinner Friday night. I thought I'd try to sneak a nap in as well but after ironing all the guys suits and shirts I laid down only to have Jacob sit up in his pack -n- play and say 'HI'. So we hung out at the hotel for a little bit and then went back to the reception hall. Then it was rehearsal time!

Jackie the beautiful bride! Jacob and the flower girl practicing walking down where the aisle would be in the morning. He was pointing and yelling "Daddy!" the entire time.

We were so very privileged to have Stacy come up and stay with us Friday night. We wanted to see her and I knew I could really use her help getting things ready for the reception. This was at 7:30am Saturday at the reception hall. It was a very early morning. I caught Stacy with a mouthful of her breakfast :)

Here are the guys! David the groom, Jake the best man, and Johnathan the groomsman. They all got dressed at the reception hall to ensure some non-wrinkled suits for their pictures at 8am.

That also meant that Jacob had to put on his little suit! He was so stinking cute if I do say so myself.

He was not sure about the tie at first but then he warmed up to it.

Here he is in his little get up.

After the pictures the guys came back and hung out at the hall for a little while. Jacob was eating a muffin and kindly shared a bite with David.

Then Jacob was rolling around on the stage but don't worry he had his little friend the lint brush with him!

Stacy took these cute pictures of him hanging out up there with his juice and the lint brush.

Here is a picture of their beautiful cake!

Then it was flower time - like I said it was a GOOD thing Stacy was there! She helped ups get all the flowers on the guys just before they left for the ceremony.

David helped Johnathan (his cousin) all set up.

Just before the ceremony the guys were talking - I wonder what Jake was saying to David?

And there there was Jacob's debut! He was able to hold the flower girls hand during rehearsal so this was a little different. He was not sure at first and then when she actually dropped some petals on the ground he was shocked! He made his face that says "OH" and looked all around and back at her and at the petals - he just didn't know what to do. About half way down he wanted to turn around and go back but we got his attention and told him to go get his daddy and that kept him going to the front. He did very well and was pretty funny too!

All the guys up front waiting for the bride to come down the aisle! Jacob lasted about 2 seconds up front and then I took him to walk around in the back during the ceremony. After the ceremony he spent about 1 1/2 hours doing pictures with everyone while Stacy and I got the reception ready to go. After the pictures he was one sweaty little boy! He drank some juice and played with all the kids until we had everything cleaned up and were ready to hit the road.

This is the result of a 48 hour whirlwind of a trip! As soon as the reception was over my pregnancy "all day" sickness hit with a vengeance and Jacob passed out in the
car seat. He slept for 2 hours and needed every second of it too!

We were all very tired and decided to at least try to make it to Kansas City or just past and then get a hotel for some much needed rest. Well we were on the main interchange through Kansas City and I was on the phone trying to find us a hotel and all of a sudden Jacob made a funny noise and Jake looked and yelled that he was throwing up. I jumped in the back seat and poor little guy was hurling everywhere. It was awful! We pulled over and got everything all cleaned up and changed his clothes and said we'd make the next stop for a hotel. Only to get there and find out that everything was sold out unless we wanted to go back South or drive on for another 45 minutes. Jacob felt much better after he got sick so we decided to drive on a little while longer and were able to get a hotel and all of us enjoyed much needed baths and were all passed out by 9pm. Then about 8am Jacob sat up and said "HI". That meant it was time to hit the road. We were home before noon ate some lunch and took a long nap. It was a very busy weekend but we were blessed to be a part of David and Jackie's big day! Congratulations and we look forward to visiting with you soon!
