Well the rain my have kept us from going to the zoo while we were in Washington but we were not just going to stay home! We decided spend an evening in downtown Tacoma. We ate at the Old Spaghetti Factory - it was most of our first time there - great fun! The kids were having a blast in the big window - they were pretending to be statues :) Wish I would have had a video camera!
We got to the restaurant early so we could request seats inside the old train car! That was so great! You are up high and looking down at all the people - the kids LOVED it!
David & Jacob up above and then Grandma, Andrew & Rebekah down below... not sure why I do not have Sheryl in these pictures but she was there too!
After dinner we drove down and parked at Union Station for the next adventure we had planned! It was so amazing that the rain was just a little sprinkly (that's a real word right?) for the entire night!
Did you know you can ride the metrolink trolley from the Tacoma Dome up to the theater district downtown? YES YOU CAN! How much fun and totally free!! The kids had a great time.
Rebekah was having a great time! I didn't get pictures of the kids all standing up because you know they are all "big" kids now! And there were handles and rails made for people to stand! So yes, these pictures were taking within the first five minutes of the trip.
A little group shot in front of the trolley. I'm sure the driver thought we were a little weird - being excited riding back and forth - and taking lots of pictures... Maybe I need to learn a different language so we can play like real tourists when we do silly things like this!
Then the group shot of everyone walking back to the car. Totally amazing night but it didn't end here. No way not with all of us crazy kids!! Waterfront here we come!
