Birthdy Week Vacation Starts Here...

Jacob, Rebekah, Grandma, Papa and myself all few to WA in January. We celebrate my dad's 60th birthday with a party the following weekend. Sheryl, David & Andrew were so very gracious to let us all crash at their house for the entire week. I was DREADING the flight but all in all the kids were awesome for both flights. We flew to Seattle late Sunday evening and Jacob (who might take after his mommy a little more then I may admit...) was so interested in what was happening around him and he was infatuated with the little TV on the seat back in front of him that he didn't bother with anything we brought and didn't sleep a wink. I packed a TON of things for him to do and Jake loaded the PSP with movies and games for him but he didn't touch a thing. When I was packing I told Jacob that he could bring his trains to WA. I figured all the boys would have a good time with it. Even though it took up half the suitcase it was well worth it! We arrived at their house about 1am and both kids had passed out on the ride from the airport and transferred straight to bed with no problems -Yeah!!
This was the next morning - we got the trains out right away and everyone played and had a great time. The trains were a hit :) Andrew was the creative one and David was the construction consultant who advised Andrew on how to make things "work" the way he wanted them to.
Rebekah was excited to have lots of new things to play with! Sheryl has a really "homey" home with a SUPER comfy couch. It's the place you go to just sit and relax and you always feel welcome! Perfect for a curious 9 month old who wants to get into everything! On a side note - it was such a joy to be here this time around. When we were here back in May, Rebekah was a total mess and Sheryl adjusted her several times day until we had a normal newborn on our hands. This time around everyone was able to see a rambunctious, inquisitive, smiley, happy little girl! It was wonderful!!
For Christmas, we decided to make calendars for Christmas presents. Jacob was pretty excited to help hand out the presents. It was a little late for Christmas gifts but better late than never :)
Jacki and my dad share the same birthday (but she will let you know that she is a year younger). So she took the week off work and spent almost all of it with us over at Sheryl's house. The calendars were a big hit. They were very fun to make, although next year I will start a bit earlier...
Jacob had fun looking at all the pictures with everyone.
Jacob was so excited to go to WA and play with David and Andrew. He remembered them from our last trip and when we told him we were going he asked almost everyday if "today" was the day we were going to see them. We had a great time to sum up the entire trip! But you'll see that from the next several posts.
